Embed Figma designs in Notion and sync design status with project pages
Product and design teams rely on Notion for project documentation and Figma for design work, but keeping design specifications and project docs in sync is a constant challenge. A Notion project page describes a feature, but the actual design lives in Figma with no link back. When the design is approved in Figma, the Notion page still says 'In Design.' Stakeholders reviewing the Notion project doc have no idea what the feature is supposed to look like without separately navigating to Figma.
GAIA creates a live connection between Figma and Notion so design work and project documentation reinforce each other. When a Figma frame is finalized, GAIA can embed a preview in the corresponding Notion page and update the design status field. When a Notion project enters the design phase, GAIA can create a linked Figma file section and notify the design team. Design decisions documented in Figma comments can be captured in Notion, and Notion feedback can flow back to Figma as annotations.

When a Figma frame is linked in a Notion page or when a Figma file is associated with a Notion project, GAIA automatically embeds a live preview of the design in the Notion page so stakeholders see the actual design alongside the project documentation.
Update Notion design status when Figma frames are approved
When a designer marks a Figma frame as ready for handoff or when a Figma comment thread is resolved, GAIA updates the design status property in the linked Notion database entry from 'In Design' to 'Design Complete' so project tracking pages stay accurate.
Capture Figma design decisions in Notion
GAIA monitors Figma comment threads on key design files and exports resolved discussions to a Notion 'Design Decisions' database, creating a searchable record of why design choices were made that survives beyond the Figma comment thread.
Notify designers when Notion specs are updated
When a product manager updates a Notion feature spec, GAIA notifies the assigned designer with a summary of what changed so they can update the Figma design accordingly — closing the feedback loop between product and design without a manual handoff meeting.
Generate Notion design review checklists from Figma components
GAIA can read a Figma component library and generate a Notion checklist for design review, listing each component with its current status, last-updated date, and link to the Figma frame so design system reviews are structured and thorough.

Connect Notion and Figma to GAIA
Authenticate your Notion workspace and Figma team through GAIA's integration settings. GAIA uses a Figma access token with viewer/commenter permissions and Notion OAuth to read and update pages without requiring admin access to either platform.

Map Figma files to Notion pages and databases
Tell GAIA which Figma files correspond to which Notion projects. You can link by sharing a Figma URL in a Notion page, by naming convention, or by explicit mapping in GAIA's configuration. Set preferences for which events should trigger updates.
